Raleigh Branch’s Erin Babcock and Barb Hopkins were among the first Employees to take part in a project through ERIE’s Service Corps programs. Through ERIE Service Corps, teams of Employees can work together for causes that they care about during company time.
In Erie, Pa., more than 260 Home Office Employees worked on a Habitat for Humanity build that spanned three weeks in July and August. ERIE has partnered with Habitat for Humanity since 2004.
The Indiana Branch tackled a panel build with Habitat for Humanity this summer. A panel build can be put together in a parking lot in about six hours, then dissembled and moved to its final property.
A Charlotte, N.C., team of 24 ERIE Service Corps volunteers – made up of ERIE Agents alongside Claims and Sales Employees – completed a service project for Samaritans Feet, a nonprofit that distributes shoes to those in need.
ERIE Claims and Sales Employees and one agency representative from Raleigh, N.C., helped needy homeowners through Rebuilding Together of the Triangle.
In its fifth year, ERIE’s annual golf tournament – Charity Challenge – drew more than 100 golfers and helped raise more than $ 96,000 for local nonprofits. Based on team standings, charities could earn $ 1,500 to $ 15,000. The winning team was sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank, earning $ 15,000 for Americans for the Competitive Enterprise System (ACES).
The Harrisburg branch made a $ 5,000 donation to the Latino Vision Association, just in time for their ninth annual children’s Christmas party. More than 800 people attended the children’s party, which included food and drinks, live music, a Christmas gift and a meet-and-greet with Santa himself. ERIE volunteers also helped set up the fun and festive event.
In Canton, Employees like Senior Material Damage Supervisor Tony Carosielli tackled home repairs (like power washing a roof) with Rebuilding Together. Since 2012, ERIE Employees have helped repair five houses through Rebuilding Together, an organization that helps low-income homeowners with home repairs and upgrades to improve a home’s energy use.
Erie Insurance recently made a $ 1,000 donation to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation that benefits economically disadvantaged children during the holiday season through their annual Toys for Tots Program.
Roanoke Branch Employees took on a Rebuilding Together project.

In 2014, Agents and Employees once again partnered on a wide variety of worthy organizations. New this year is ERIE Service Corps, a company-wide program that brings teams of Employees together to support local causes during the workday.
