Food, fun, mariachi bands—there’s a lot to love about Mexican Fiesta, the popular three-day festival held in Milwaukee each year.
This year’s event takes place from August 26-28. Last year, 85,000 people attended Mexican Fiesta, making it the largest paid-attendance Hispanic festival in the Midwest.
There truly is something for everyone to enjoy at Mexican Fiesta. Just a few highlights include more than 400 exhibitors, dance contests, a full lineup of music on eight stages, a jalapeño eating contest, a run/walk, a soccer tournament and a cultural pavilion featuring Mexican crafts, a genealogy exhibit and more.
Mexican Fiesta offers more than just food and entertainment, though. It’s also an important celebration of Hispanic culture and a major fundraiser for the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation. This organization provides scholarships to more than 2,300 deserving Hispanic students and assists more than 15 community nonprofits in Wisconsin.
