It’s no secret that teens and cars can be a dangerous combination.
ERIE understands this and is taking action. This year ERIE will once again sponsor Join the Shift, a safe teen driving program that uses fun, interactive activities to help teens learn about and spread the safe driving message. Shift includes an interactive website at Jointheshift.org and an annual contest in which both high schools and students can earn points to win prizes.
Point-earning activities include creating safe driving videos, taking a safe driver pledge and sharing content on Facebook® and Twitter®. Students can also earn points by referring friends to sign up during the eight-week contest.
This year’s contest runs today until Oct. 21. Sixteen prizes totaling $20,000 will be awarded to the students and schools who amass the most points. New to this year’s contest is a $1,000 schoolwide prize for best video.
